Cancun Getaway...

Jeff and I were lucky enough this march to take a great vacation to Cancun. We loved every minute of it. Even the long days in multiply airports. We stayed in an all-inclusive resort called The Grand Oasis Caribbean. It is brand new and beautiful! We had a great room that has a balcony that over-looked the ocean. The weather was beautiful the whole time we were there, and we enjoyed much of our time laying out at the beach. We were in Cancun for 3 whole days, while the other 2 days we spent traveling. The first day we relaxed and enjoyed the beach drinking Pina Colada's. The second day we went on a great tour to Tulum and Xelhe. The Mayan ruins at Tulum were amazing to see, and we had a lot of fun at Xelhe snorkeling, cliff jumping, eating and soaking in the rays. On the third day we spent most of our time at the beach trying to get as much sun as possible before returning home. Jeff of course got very dark and I well, I looked like a lobster. Let's just say I was very miserable on our last night. We tried almost all of the 9 restaurants that were included with our stay, and all but one were great. We played tennis, explored Mexico and even got lost once. We went to a sweet swap meet and got some souvenirs. And we found a little Taco shop while we were lost and had some fabulous Tacos! They were my favorite. We loved getting away so much, but were so anxious to get back home to our sweet little boy. He stayed with Grandma and Grandpa and had a blast. We had so much fun and are so grateful that we were able to go! It will probably be out last trip together for awhile, as long as the babies keep coming! Tulum- Mayan Ruins

The night before we left we stayed in Vegas so we could catch our early flight, and we went to the Tournament of the Kings show, which was a lot of fun.

I am a Slacker!

Well, I realize it has been about 2 months since I last updated this thing and that is very very sad. What can I say, I'm pregnant and don't have motivation to do much these days. What a horrible excuse! A few exciting things have happened in the last couple months. Jayden is talking more and more. He trys to repeat words that we say which is just funny most of the time. His favorite words are of course ball, mama, dad, and go. He's still obsessed as ever with balls. That's the first thing he says and wants as soon as he wakes up from a nap or in the morning. Ball, ball, ball is pretty much what I here everyday. We got him a basketball hoop for his birthday and it's his favorite thing. He climbs on top of his toy box, then will shoot hoops all day long. He's actually pretty good. You can only imagine how happy that makes his dad.
I am now almost 21 weeks pregnant and can't even believe how fast the time has gone by. I have been so blessed to have such a great pregnancy as well. I don't even feel pregnant to be honest! I have finally started to show a little bit and I'm excited about that. We found out a couple weeks ago that we are going to have a little GIRL! We are so excited for that. I had a feeling it was a girl and am so happy that it is. I can't wait to dress her up with bows and all the cute things that come with having a girl. Bring on the pink! She's always dancing around in my tummy and it is the greatest feeling. I love it! I have been working on a project for about 5 months now and I am finally going to finish this week! YAY for me. I'm so slow sometimes.
Jeff is as busy as ever which we are so grateful for right now. It gets me counting my blessings everyday thats for sure. He's working on a couple big projects right now which are very stressful, but great learning opportunities. He's amazing at what he does. He is also working on finishing our basement. Everything is textured and now he is working on the trim work. I'm so anxious for when it's done. I'll finally have a garage back!
Jeff and I went on a little second honeymoon a couple weeks ago. We decided that we should go now before we have to many kids and can't go. So we left Jayden with his Grandma Sue, and went to Cancun for 5 days. It was so wonderful. It was for sure hard to leave Jayden but ended up being great. The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed every minute of it. It was so nice to get away and just be with each other again! Thank you Sue and Janessa for all your help!
Well, I think that pretty much sums up the last couple months for us. Life is Good and we are now enjoying the nice warm weather. Yea for SPRING!

This is my 18 week little belly

There's a little better shot

Here's me and Jayden cheesin it!

Jayden fell asleep while eating his string cheese and watching a baby Einstein. I thought it was pretty funny.

Guess What Everyone!!

Well, here at the Madsen home we have been keeping a little secret, but now I think it's time that we let everyone know! Here it goes....I'M PREGNANT! Yes that's right, baby #2 is on it's way. We are so excited! I am now 10 weeks along and am excited to get this first trimester over with. I can't complain to much though because I have had it relatively easy compared to some of my other friends who are also pregnant. Pretty much everything sounds nasty to me and I don't want to eat anything but if I don't eat than I feel worse, so you know the food area for me is not so fun. I get nauseous randomly throughout the day, but can keep that under control if I feed myself. I had my first doctors appointment last Thursday and it was wonderful. I got to hear the baby's heart beat which makes this whole experience worth it! We are due August 7th and are counting down the days. Our lives will again change forever! :)

Update on Jayden....
He is doing very well. He gets his stitches out tomorrow and his cut is really healing great. We have had the bandages off for a few days and it hasn't bothered him much. I think he's to the point where it is starting to itch and just be annoying. He's pretty good at not touching it but sometimes I catch him chewing on his thumb and I swear he's going to pull a stitch out, but after tomorrow we won't have to worry about that any more. We are grateful that it's almost over!

Sad story...

So here is the sad story. We went up to Salt Lake for New Years to spend time with my family, and had an absolute blast. We spent New years eve with Laurice, Eric, and Amy playing games, and had christmas with everyone on New Years day. It was wonderful. Then we went to Jeff's family cabin in Heber and went sledding, played games, ate great food, and watched movies. We loved everything that we did. Well on Sunday, we were packing up to head home when tragedy happened. I was taking all of our stuff out to the truck so Jeff could load it. Jayden was inside my mom's house just playing and being a good boy. Well this one particular time I opened the door and Jayden must have been standing in front of the door on the opposite side, because i knocked him over. I thought he might be there so i opened the door slowly, but as soon as he hit the ground he started screaming. I looked around to see if he was hurt and I sadly found his poor little thumb torn to pieces. I started yelling Jeff's name, and him and my mom came to see what was wrong. Jayden's thumb was gushing with blood so we wiped it off to see how bad it was, and it was bad. Jeff and I rushed to the emergency room, as Jayden was in my arms crying the whole way there. We got right in obviously, cause we had a screaming baby, and the doctor said right away that he would need to numb him and put stitches in his little thumb. I was heart broken. My sweet little boy wasn't supposed to go through anything like this yet. That was for a few years down the road. Anyway, Jayden endured it and so did I. The worst part was when the doctor numbed his thumb. It was horrible. Then we had to wait of course to see if anything was broken, and nothing was. Then he got stitched up. He has 5 stitches on the outside of his thumb and 3 stitches on the inside. 8 stitches is his tiny finger. It is so sad. The emergency room was the worst part of the whole experience though. Jayden has done so well this week with his wounded hand. He has had a bandage on his hand all week until today, when i took it off so it could heal more. He is very cautious with the things that he does with that hand but does so great. He hasn't seemed to be in pain at all which is wonderful. I've had stitches in my finger before and it hurts, so I know that he is a trooper. He will get his stitches out next tuesday! We live and learn from these things, accidents happen right? :) The front of his thumb
The Stitch Job
Smiling after it's all done
This is what we think cut his hand. He must of had his thumb in the circle of the bell and when I opened the door it ripped his thumb out cutting him. The edges of the circle are very sharp.
Still smiling, my brave little boy, and can still play with a basketball even though he has a stub for one hand!
