Sweet Sticky Rice with Mango's

Jeff made this dessert last week that was so yummy. It for sure has become one of my favorites. I think it was the longest time he has spent in the kitchen making something too. It was a sweet sticky rice covered in the yummiest mango's, and topped with a sweet/salty coconut milk sauce. It was delicious. I love my husband.

28 Weeks

I am 28 weeks pregnant. Need I say more...my energy streak is leaving and I am beginning to get tired again. Many days I need a nap just as much as my kids need naps. Heart burn greets me everyday making Pepcid AC my best friend. I have 2 and a half more months and I really try not to think how long that really seems. I can complain about being uncomfortable and miserable when I am 36 weeks, right now is just to early to start doing that...positive thinking, positive thinking. Anyway, things are actually going really good. I am glad that February is now over. I know March is going to be a great month. My kids are healthy and I am very grateful for that. There are to many kids getting RSV and pneumonia this year. I don't like that so we stay in house cozy little house most days. We are ready for some warm weather to come our way though. I am getting spring fever like crazy. I want to plant some flowers and my garden! It's right around the corner and that's a darn good thing!
This is my little princess Mia. My mom got her this dress for Christmas last year and she looks so adorable in it. She's my beautiful little girl.

Fancy Valentines Party

Every things fine, just put on a little lipstick...
Mia was invited to a little Valentines Party by one of her little friends and it was so fun. She was supposed to come looking like a fancy diva and it was so fun dressing her up. I curled her hair in little ringlets and put some sparkly eyeshadow on her eyes and she looked beautiful. She wasn't having the greatest day so I didn't get any great pictures of just her unfortunately. At the party all the little girls decorated cup cakes, exchanged their valentines, and played some little games. It was fun to see all the girls dressed up and playing together. Mya, the little girl who invited Mia, put some little lip stick on all the girls and Mia couldn't get enough of that. She went back 3 times to get some more. It was very cute.

Jayden was the only boy there. He just stood off out of the way most the time. You could tell that he knew he was out of place there. It was funny.

This was Mia before the party. She was not happy and absolutely not going to give me a smile. Silly little girl

Valentines Day

Valentines Day, the day of love. Lots of love was going around our house on Valentines day. It started out great with heart shaped pink blueberry pancakes that tasted wonderful. Jeff and I set up our little valentine gifts the night before so our kids could find them when they woke up. Jayden and Mia were so excited. Jayden got a little Thomas the Train Lego set, and Mia got a little purse that has a soft little monkey that attaches to it. They played with their toys all day and still play with them. Jeffrey got me some awesome silky pajamas that I love, and a night out to dinner and stay at the Holiday Inn Express. It was a great surprise that I was very excited for. And Jeff got a book that I had been working on the entire month of January. It's a journal of our last 4 years together, loaded with tons of pictures and sweet memories that I didn't want us to forget. I was so excited to give it to him and he loves it.
Jason watched our kids for us that night so we could go on our Valentines date. We ate a yummy dinner at Applebee's and then headed over to the Holiday Inn Express, were we relaxed and enjoyed the evening together. It was a wonderful Valentines day. I love my family.
Mia just wasn't having a good morning on Valentines. She was a sad girl and wouldn't even eat her heart shaped pancakes.

Monkeys Jumping on the bed

I have two of the best kids that anyone could ask for. They are my joy and my everything. I love being their mom more and more everyday. Life as a mom is always interesting and fun. There is always a mess to clean up, laundry to do, and floors to be cleaned, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. I feel so very blessed be able to stay home with my kids. I wouldn't have it any other way and am so grateful for all that Jeffrey does to make that possible for me. Jayden and Mia are growing up so fast.
Jeff and I look at Jayden and can't believe how big he is now. He is 3 years old and he is amazing! He's of course still awesome at every sport that comes his way. He can't wait to be on a soccer team someday. Jeff and him have been practicing his kick for the past week. He can throw a ball in the air and hit it with a baseball bat as it comes down. And I don't mean a little hit, he hits it hard. He can throw and catch a football, and swing his best at a golf ball. I mean this kid is everything that Jeff could have ever wanted as a son. He loves to draw and is learning how to draw all sorts of things. Right now he likes to draw his family. He's getting the stick figures down better everyday. He loves to play with his blocks and build all sorts of different things. Most of the time he builds a gun for each one of us so we can run around the house shooting the imaginary bad guys. He is an awesome napper, and goes to bed really well now too. Him and Mia play together all day long. He is a great big brother and is pretty protective of Mia when we are around other kids. He is learning more everyday. We work with him on his alphabet and numbers. He knows all the sounds of the alphabet and can count to 15 all by himself sometimes higher. He struggles with his shapes and colors, but that is coming. Jeff and I think it is funny that he can name every different kind of ball that there is, but when it comes to naming his shapes everything seems to be a triangle. He is a funny boy. He is a sunbeam now and his teachers love him. He is a very good boy in church and listens to his teachers. He is very obedient at home as well, and a big helper. He has a list of chores that he does and he does them so well. I am so proud of him and the sweet little boy that he is!
Mia is also getting to be so big. She is 18 months and loves life and her big brother. She chases him around all day, trying to do everything that he does. She talks like a minion off of the movie Despicable Me and we love it. She it starting to say more and more words and it's fun to hear her. I love it when she says love you, it melts my heart every time. The other day I was holding her and she gave me a big hug and said love you with out me even asking her too. It was precious. She is running and trying her hardest to jump. She see's jayden doing it all the time and is doing her best to follow in his footsteps. She loves her babies. She loves to feed them and put them in their bed with their blankets. She also loves stuffed animals. She loves to go in Jaydens room and get as many books out as she can and read them. She is a big eater, and eats about anything that I put on her plate. I love this quality in her. It makes meal time so much easier for me. She loves to be outside with her brother. She loves the tramp and could stay on it for hours. The other day she saw Jayden get off all by himself and decided that she needed to do that too. Jeff caught her hanging off the side of the tramp just before she was going to drop. When she is in the mood she will cuddle with me for a long time. She sings I am a Child of God, and it is the cutest thing ever. I just love this little girl. She is our little drama queen sometimes but that just comes with being a girl right? I think her little girl moments are funny. She is so fun and Jeff and I love her so much!
Each morning starts with the best thing that it possibly could. Two wonderful children who make us smile and who helps us try to be the best parents that we can be. Jeff and I thank our Heavenly Father every night for our wonderful children and the joy that they bring into our lives. We couldn't imagine life without them, and we can't wait to welcome our new little girl into our family in May. Life is good and we are happy!
One morning Jayden got every pillow that he could find in the house and put them on the floor in my room. Him and Mia had a blast jumping off my bed into the big pile of pillows. They did it over and over and over again, enjoying every time they fell into the pillows. Isn't being a kid the coolest! I remember doing this when I was little. Why do we have to get bigger? I wish my kids would stay this little always. They are so much fun and have such great imaginations!

Kite Flying in February

We have had some really nice weather in the last couple weeks, and some really cold weather. We have definitely taken advantaged of the nice days. I still can't believe that it can be 60 degrees in February. Jayden and Mia love to go outside and play. Jayden got a new bike for Christmas, called the Strider, and he loves it. Every time we go outside that is what he wants to do. Saturday was a very nice day, and we used the sunshine to work in our front and backyard. I trimmed all the bushes and weeded the front, while Jeff worked on the landscaping in the backyard. We got a lot done, which is very nice. It has made me very excited for spring to come. For everything to turn green again, for gardening and planting flowers, and of course getting some color on my pale skin. I don't want it to get to warm to soon though. Then it gets hot to fast and I'm not a fan of that at all! After we finished working for the day the wind started up and Jeff had a great idea to get our kites out and show the kids how to fly them. I got Jeff a dragon kite while we were dating and I had a butterfly one that we had kept. Jayden loved that we had a dragon kite and Mia loved the butterfly. It was so fun so see the kids faces when the kites soared in the sky. The dragon had a hard time flying at first, but Jeff finally got it to go. The butterfly flew as soon as we let it go. Jayden and Mia both got to hold the spindle and fly the kite by themselves. It was a blast. Since then Jayden asks almost everyday if we can go fly kites. I guess that Hurricane wind is good for one thing!

Remembering Amy

A year ago today my sweet sister passed away. Today already has been a rough one. It's weird but I have felt like I am reliving the whole bitter/sweet experience again. I remember the call from my mom and the tears that were shed. I remember hugging my family and sharing tears with them. I remember seeing Amy for the first time and just wanting to shake her and wake her up. I remember going through pictures and crying a little more. I remember sitting around with my family laughing and crying for all the sweet memories we have of Amy. I remember the sacred experience me, my mom and my sister had while dressing Amy for her funeral. I will never forget the spirit that we felt there in that room with her. I remember family and friends that came over and shared their memories and love for Amy. I remember seeing family that I haven't seen for a long time. I remember closing the casket and feeling so helpless and sad that I won't get to see my sister again for awhile. I remember each of my siblings share their favorite past times of Amy and seeing them cry. I remember Jeffrey's poem that he wrote for Amy. I remember the amazing music that was performed at the funeral. I remember how sad it is to not have Amy there when we get together as a family. We miss her a lot. Through everything what I remember most,(and what I hold on too) is the peace I have in my heart knowing the plan of Salvation and that I will see my sweet sister again. She is happier than she ever was here on earth and that makes me happy. She is dancing with angels and singing in the heavenly choir, and I know she is watching over me and my family. I love you Amy and I miss you.
